Dr. Douglas Reeves is CEO and founder of The Leadership and Learning Center and is a frequent keynote speaker in the U.S. and abroad for education, government, and business organizations. Dr. Reeves is a faculty member of leadership programs sponsored by the Harvard Graduate School of Education and is the author of more than twenty books and many articles, including The Learning Leader: How to Focus School Improvement for Better Results. He won the Parent’s Choice Award for his writing for children and parents and was recently named the 2006 Brock International Laureate, one of the most significant education awards in the world.
Dr. Brian McNulty is a Professional Development Associate for The Leadership and Learning Center. Brian brings 30 years of experience as a leading education specialist to his position and has most recently served since 2000 as Vice President, Field Services at the Mid-continent Research for Education and Learning (McREL). An author of more than 40 publications, Brian's most recent book, What Works in School Leadership: Research to Results, an ASCD publication, is co-authored with Robert Marzano and Tim Waters.
Dr. Elle Allison is a Senior Professional Development Associate with The Leadership and Learning Center. Elle is recognized in education for her knowledge and expertise in working with individuals, teams and organizations to provide students with masterful learning opportunities in standards-based classrooms and systems. With experience as a teacher, principal, director of school improvement, assistant superintendent, and organizational development business consultant, Dr. Allison brings a wide range of practical wisdom to her work. She has facilitated the work of curriculum committees, standards design teams, assessment development and accountability task force groups.
Juan Cordova is a Professional Development Associate for The Leadership and Learning Center. He is presently the Principal of Sunrise Elementary School in Marion County Public Schools in Ocala, Florida. In addition to being a Principal, Juan teaches introductory education classes at Central Florida Community College. As a Professor of introductory education classes, he gets the opportunity to directly impact up and coming teachers, sharing with them a realistic view of what teaching is like and providing them with a foundation for future success. On occasion, Juan gets the opportunity to teach about one of his great passions, ESL students, for Florida Southern University. Juan has a wealth of experience with professional development, including work as a district trainer in Clinical Education and the Florida Performance Measurement System. Both of these involvements tie directly to his desire to positively impact beginning teachers.
Dr. Mike Wasta is a Professional Development Associate for The Leadership and Learning Center. He served as Superintendent of Bristol Public Schools in Bristol, Connecticut and is currently serving on the board of education. Mike led the Bristol Schools in adopting many of the programs and initiatives designed by The Leadership and learning Center, including Data-Driven Decision Making, Data Teams, Holistic Accountability and Making Standards Work. By instituting these practices district-wide in a comprehensive and integrated fashion there have been dramatic improvements in student achievement.
Kim Marshall was a teacher, central office administrator, and principal in the Boston Pubic Schools for 32 years. Kim now advises and coaches new principals, teaches courses and workshops on instructional leadership, and publishes the Marshall Memo, a weekly newsletter that summarizes ideas and research from 44 education-based publications (www.marshallmemo.com). Kim has written several books and numerous articles on teaching and school leadership.
