The Write Tools provides comprehensive writing strategies for students K-12. Included are ideas for teaching the writing process, summarizing, assessment, peer and teacher conferencing, and responding to literature. Activities are integrated with the 6+1 Traits of Writing as a common language for discussing models of strong writing with students. The Write Tools also matches the recommendations in the recently released Carnegie report, Writing Next. A quick assessment for each strategy, as well as, a three-tiered approach encourages data-driven instruction. All materials have been used and tested by classroom teachers.
