Mission: The mission of The Leadership and Learning Center, formerly the Center for Performance Assessment, is to provide extraordinary performance through extraordinary learning. We improve student achievement by building the knowledge and skills of educators and school leaders, and we are the world's preeminent source of educator professional development in the areas of standards, assessment, and accountability.
Values: We value respect, reason, teamwork, fairness, and excellence.
Implications:
- Respect: Every person—our clients, our colleagues, ourselves—gives and receives respect. Respect is clear in every element of our communication, decision-making, and daily interaction with clients and colleagues. Respect is more important than revenue.
- Reason: We operate on facts, not opinion. We do not tolerate bigotry of any kind, whether applied to people or ideas. Allegations of bigotry are taken seriously and tested against the facts.
- Teamwork: Every colleague assumes personal responsibility for The Center’s mission, values, and commitments to clients. This sense of commitment is incompatible with clock-watching, excuse-making, and finger-pointing. We share information, opportunities, decision-making, rewards, and hassles. Every client engagement is a team effort.
- Fairness: The rewards and risks of our work are shared fairly with all colleagues. We are committed to being a collaborative organization that is owned and led by colleagues.
- Excellence: We represent high standards in everything we do, from letters and handouts to interoffice communication. Slovenly research, writing, organization, and behavior are not compatible with this value.
