Certification Training
Certification training is tailor-made for schools and districts that wish to increase their capacity to offer on site, sustainable staff development. By training your own cadre of staff developers via The Center’s certification training program, your school or district can save money while working toward raising student achievement.
Participants in certification training gain more than just a certificate to hang on the wall. They gain the skills and knowledge to provide ongoing professional development as an active part of your organization’s long-term professional development plan. Our certification trainings are available both as regularly scheduled events in Denver, Colorado, as well as on site. For more information about our on-site trainings, please contact Nan Caldwell, Senior Director of Sales and Marketing, at 866.399.6019 ext. 213 or NCaldwell@LeadandLearn.com.
In certification training, participants learn how to:
- Present the content of the seminars that correspond to the training.
- Sustain professional development by providing on-site expertise during implementation at the school and district levels.
- Develop facilitation and presentation skills.
Certification training focuses on how to deliver seminars to educators, and requires that participants are already proficient in the subject matter, through attending the pre-requisite corresponding seminar. Although certification training does offer participants a deeper understanding of the seminar material, it does not represent an advanced level of study.
During the three- or four-day training, participants work on presentation skills by presenting to the training group multiple times, and have the opportunity to increase their knowledge by engaging in collegial discussions each day.
After successfully completing the training, newly certified trainers sign a license agreement that includes the following stipulations:
- The license to present is valid for three years and is limited to the trainer’s home school or district.
- The home school or district will purchase seminar materials from The Center for each participant in seminars presented by certified trainers. Permission to photocopy training materials is not granted.
- Trainers whose licenses expire can be re-certified by attending the full certification training.
