This training provides participants with the knowledge, skills, and experience necessary to present and implement the content of the Writing to Learn seminars to educators within their schools and districts.

The Certification Training and follow-up support will help the schools and districts to:

For less than the cost of a one-day seminar presented by a Center consultant, a certified trainer can present seminars an unlimited number of times in their school or district for a period of three years…And the Certified Trainers still receive ongoing support from senior Center consultants!

Prerequisites:

Participants must have the following prerequisites:

  • Previously completed the Power Strategies for Response to Intervention seminar prior to attending this training

Learning Objectives:

  • Present the content of the Power Strategies for Response to Intervention seminar
  • Learn how to use the training manual and permanent resources to enhance the learning experience for teachers and administrators
  • Sustain professional development by providing on-site expertise during implementation at the school and district levels
  • During the included Follow-up Implementation Webinars:
    • Review sample implementation plans and create a customized plan that results in sustainable professional development across the school or district
    • Discuss factors to improve quality and levels of implementation

Certified Trainers will receive the following support by The Center:

  • PowerPoint presentation with speaker's notes
  • Several resources with background, research, and success stories on Power Strategies for Response to Intervention
  • Participant Training Manual
  • Sample agendas, pacing guides, and implementation support
  • Email and webinar support for issues faced by Certified Trainers
  • Complimentary subscription to The Center magazine
  • Certificate of completion suitable for framing and 22.5 class hours towards your license renewal
  • Three-year license agreement
     

Registration Information

The fee for the certification training is $3,295.00 per person.  This fee includes training materials, continental breakfast, lunch, and snacks each day, and license to present the Power Strategies for Response to Intervention seminar in your school and district for a period of three years from the date of this training.

The group discount rate is $109.00 per night plus tax.  Training participants are responsible for their own hotel room reservations and payment.  Mention The Leadership and Learning Center and make your reservation at least one month in advance to be assured of receiving the discount rate.  Please note that Renaissance does not accept purchase orders as payment.  There is no complimentary hotel shuttle service from the airport, but the Renaissance recommends American Taxi, which offers a flat fare of $30 to and from the airport; call (847) 255-9614.  Use of City cabs may result in higher fares.  The Renaissance does offer free shuttle service within a 5-mile radius, which includes the popular Botanical Gardens, Northbrook Court Shopping Mall, and many restaurants.  Parking at the Renaissance is complimentary.

Cancellations and Substitutions

All cancellations must be submitted in writing.  If cancellation occurs less than 30 days in advance of the training date, a credit of the tuition, less a $500.00 cancellation fee, will be applied to your account and may be applied toward future purchase of Center products or services.  Substitutions are permissible.
