The 90/90/90 Schools℠ Summit Version 2.0

The 90/90/90 Schools℠ study, conducted by Dr. Douglas B. Reeves, has made a lasting impact on the way we educate students for over the past decade. Primarily, the notions that ALL children can learn, and every educator can reach them, have changed the way schools do business for years to come. Today, the findings of this monumental research still hold true and are supported by the work of many other experts in the field (including John Hattie and his work with Visible Learning, Kati Haycock and Ed Trust, and Linda Darling-Hammond).
In this second version of the 90/90/90 Schools℠ Summit, attendees will learn how to implement practices that have made 90/90/90 Schools so successful. Douglas B. Reeves will present two motivating keynote sessions to set the stage for success. Breakout sessions allow attendees to customize their experience and include the following topics:
- The 90/90/90 School℠ Improvement Model
- Involving the Student in the School Improvement Process
- Leadership: Monitoring What Matters Most
- Data Teams: A Model for Collaboration and Constructive Use of Data
Attendees will leave this Summit with a plan for implementing practices that create a culture of student success and will leave educators with a renewed sense of efficacy.
Attendees are encouraged to have a working knowledge of the 90/90/90 Schools℠ Study prior to attending this Summit. Teams are encouraged to attend in order to get the most out of the breakout sessions and facilitated planning time.

Meeting the Challenges of the Common Core in 90/90/90 Schools – Cathy Lassiter Participants in this session will examine the challenges of the CCSS through the lens of 90/90 schools. All schools across the nation will have to step up their curricula, pedagogy, assessment, and data analyses, but schools in 90/90 districts will face additional challenges related to their current achievement levels and expectations inherent in the CCSS. Participants will explore the expectations in math and English, and begin planning to ready their schools and classrooms for the demands headed their way. |
Formative Assessment– Steve Ventura Effective schools recognize the need for frequent assessment accompanied with feedback and additional opportunities for students to improve. Formative assessments are a part of the teaching and learning process – rather than an outcome of that process – which provides immediate feedback to both the learner and the teacher. Learn how teachers engage students in the learning process, monitor learning, and adjust instruction based upon the feedback generated by meaningful formative assessments. |

Engaging Students through Nonfiction Writing, Engaging Teachers through Collaborative Scoring– Laura Besser When students engage in nonfiction writing, student achievement improves. The use of writing in the classroom also helps teachers gain diagnostic information about student learning. Learn how to use non-fiction writing strategies to engage students in the learning. In the second part of this breakout you will also learn about the importance of nonfiction writing rubrics and collaborative scoring. . |

Leadership Coaching to Improve Results – Cathy Lassiter The presenter will share current research on the school leader’s role in coaching teachers, teams, and instructional leaders for improved results centered on the findings from the 90/90/90 Schools℠. What actions and behaviors do leaders exhibit when they are effectively coaching others? What benefits will students glean as a result of this effort? The answers to these questions and more will be explored during this interactive session. |

To book accommodations please call the hotel directly at (856) 778-7300 and mention The Leadership and Learning Center to receive our discounted rate of $139 plus tax. Rooms will only be available at the discounted rate until September 10, 2012 or when the block of rooms sells out, whichever comes first. If the room block does sell out, we will do our best to find a hotel near the training location at a comparable rate. Please note that you are responsible for making your own hotel reservations. The Westin does not accept purchase orders as payment.
The Westin is located 22 miles from the Philadelphia International Airport and taxis are approximately $50 each way.

Cancellations and Substitutions
By submitting an online registration you are agreeing to pay the registration fee regardless of the payment method specified at time of submission and you agree to this Cancellation and Substitution policy. You must cancel in writing. The Center does not give refunds. If you cancel more than 30 days in advance of the conference, The Center will apply 100% of the tuition to your Center account for future purchases of our products or services. If you cancel fewer than 30 days in advance of the conference, The Center will apply a tuition credit to your Center account, less a cancellation fee of 50% of the conference tuition.
