Decision Making for Results: Data-Driven Decision Making (DMR) and Data Teams (DT) Certification Training

Denver, Colorado

September 25-27, 2012
Denver, Colorado

The Leadership and Learning Center is committed to providing extraordinary experience through extraordinary learning.

The Leadership and Learning Center's Certification Program is perfect for schools and districts that wish to increase their capacity to offer on-site, sustainable staff development.  By training your own cadre of staff developers, your school or district can save money while working toward raising student achievement.  For less than the cost of a one-day seminar presented by a Center consultant, a certified instructor can present seminars an unlimited number of times in their school or district for a period of three years… And the Certified Instructors still receive ongoing support from senior Center consultants!

Our extraordinary 3+1 Certification Training begins with three days of training at this event followed by four, 60 minute follow up webinars/conference calls. In order to maximize the continued support, the sessions are purposely scheduled approximately 30, 60, 90, and 120 days out from the original training.

As a Certified Instructor, You May:

  • Legally teach Decision Making for Results: Data-Driven Decision Making (DMR) and Data Teams (DT) within the parameters of your licensure agreement.
  • Purchase training materials for participants

Objectives:

  • Master the content and processes of Decision Making for Results and Data Teams
  • Understand antecedent conditions for successful implementation of the Decision Making for Results framework and the Data Team process
  • Learn best practices in presenting the content of the Decision Making for Results and Data Teams seminars
  • Increase expertise in leading professional development and in guiding successful implementation

During the certification training, you will be an active learner as you apply core content, problem solve, and engage in performance-based learning activities. Throughout the three days, you will work on your skills as a facilitator and practice teaching parts of the content in a supportive environment. You will receive immediate feedback on content and effective adult learning methods, as well as coaching from an experienced Professional Development Associate.

Participants receive a variety of resources that support core content and implementation, such as the following:

  • Decision Making for Results and Data Teams Certification Guide
  • Decision Making for Results and Data Teams Training Manuals, if applicable
  • Flash drive with presentation materials and numerous support documents
  • One year subscription to the Marshall Memo.  More information is located behind the “Research” tab in the Certification Guide

Organizations such as the American Association of School Administrators (AASA), the National Education Association (NEA), and the National Association of Secondary School Principals (NASSP), and leading educators all agree there is a critical need to use data effectively to increase student achievement.
