Five Easy Steps to a Balanced Math Program

Building mathematically powerful students is the goal of math teachers across the nation. Five Easy Steps to a Balanced Math Program Certification Training will prepare participants to return to their schools and districts and confidently guide their teachers and leaders through each of the following five components of a balanced math program: (1) Computation and Mental Math; (2) Problem Solving; (3) Conceptual Understanding; (4) Mastery of Math Facts; and (5) Common Formative Assessments. This four-day certification training will provide both in-depth understanding and application of each of the five steps along with practical suggestions for effective implementation of each of the steps in schools and school districts.

Participants will learn how to:

  • Present the content of the Five Easy Steps to a Balanced Math Program seminar
  • Sustain professional development by providing on-site expertise during implementation at the school and district levels
  • Develop facilitation and presentation skills
