The "coefficient" to which I refer in the book is based on two factors. First, we studied the relationship between the factors and student achievement. On the www.LeadAndLearn.com web site, we also provide a bibliography of research that supports the consideration of these factors. It's not just my research, but that of Bob Marzano, Linda Darling-Hammond, and many other scholars whose findings suggest a positive relationship between a particular factor and student achievement. Second, the person responding to the Leadership Map survey must identify the degree of implementation for each factor. So, for example, it's not enough to have a factor, such as a high yield teaching strategy, available in the district if it is not actually implemented at a high level in the classrooms and buildings. In other words, "great strategy with poor implementation" really means lousy strategy.

What is a Leadership Map™? The Leadership Map is a detailed analysis of the relationship between teaching and leadership practices and student achievement. It is based on the Leadership and Learning Matrix created by Dr. Reeves and explained in his new book, The Learning Leader.

How do I create a map? Once you have purchased your subscription, you need to complete the survey form. After the survey is completed we will create your map for you. It will be shipped to you in 7 business days.

How often can I take the survey? The survey can be taken any time during your subscription term. We recommend taking it after you feel improvements have been made and results are visible. Administrators and teachers should COLLABORATE to submit their answers to ONE survey and get ONE map for the school. If they want another map later in the year to see if they have made progress, then they should again collaborate
