Building-Level Data Teams Seminar

This seminar introduces you to the School Data Team, also known as a Building Data Team. The purpose of this leadership team is to improve instructional practice and to improve learning. The Building Data Team monitors school-wide improvement by monitoring the progress of the Instructional Data Teams and student performance growth.

This seminar will provide a comprehensive overview of the Building Data Teams process. You will also learn practical strategies and experience an actual meeting. You’ll leave this seminar with an action plan that will help you implement a Building Data Team in your building.

Participants will learn about:

  • The role of the Building Data Team in a Holistic Accountability System
  • The relationship between the Building Data Team and District Improvement plans
  • The monitoring function of the Building Data Team
  • The Building Data Team actions—the meeting
  • The composition, function, and processes of a Building Data Team

As a result of this learning experience, participants will be able to:

  • Create a limited number of student achievement goals based on the school’s current reality and the needs of the district
  • Generate a limited number of adult action indicators to achieve the student achievement goals
  • Plan explicitly for the integration of the Building Data Team and the instructional, teacher-level Data Teams
  • Develop a monitoring plan for both student results and adult actions
  • Replicate a Building Data Team meeting
